Michigans Attorney General-Mike Cox

Mike Cox was raised in Detroit Michigan. After graduating from High School, Cox joined the United States Marine Corp. After serving his country, Cox interest turned towards law. Cox returned to Michigan to attend the University of Michigan's law school. In 1989 Cox join the Wayne County Prosecutors Office. By 2000 Cox had worked his way up through the ranks to director of Wayne County Prosecutors Office Homicide Unit. After Serving only two years as director of the homicide unit, Cox ran and became Michigan's 52 nd appointed Attorney General in 2003.

As Michigan's Attorney General, Cox stands true to his claim of defending those that can not defend themselves.

To Cox name are several programs started under his rein of service. In 2003, Cox founded (OSI) Office of Special Investigations. Which is used to uncover public corruption and solve cold case homicide files. Cox found (MI IDENTITY) A program that targets identity theft among adult care facility residents. Cox also started the Child Support Division in Michigan. This program alone has helped thousands of single parents get the help they need from the other parent who is not willing to help.

To date Cox has received several awards for his service as Michigan's Attorney General. In 2004 Cox received the Golden Heart Award from the association for children enforcement of child support. Cox also received an award from the Crime Prevention Association of Michigan for outstanding commitment for stopping identity theft and fraud in 2004.
